Why We Started MOSS Objects

I left a successful career to build lighting. Here is why.

I started MOSS Objects because I was tired of disposable design. Beautiful fixtures that looked impressive in showrooms but were built to last five years, not fifty.

I wanted to create something different. Lighting built with the same rigor as architecture. Fixtures that become part of a space, not decorations applied to it.

Our workshop in Berlin is small by design. We have two fabricators, one finisher, and me. Every piece passes through our hands. We see every weld, every surface, every detail.

This is not efficient by industrial standards. But efficiency was never the goal. The goal was to make something worth keeping.

Six years in, I am proud of what we have built. Dune has found homes in kitchens, stairwells, and lobbies around the world. Emily brings warmth to bedrooms and corridors. And Kosmos, launching Q2 2026, will bring our vision to grander scales.

If you share our belief that things should be built to last, we would love to work with you.
