The lighting specification process for a pendant light — whether for a hotel lobby, restaurant interior, or private residence is a different process from product selection. MOSS Objects works with interior architects and project designers through a defined workflow — from initial enquiry to final delivery — structured to fit how professional design teams operate.

The Lighting Specification Process Starts Here

The starting point is a project brief. What matters at this stage is an outline of the space, the intended function of the lighting, and an approximate quantity. Ceiling heights, installation constraints, and any coordination requirements with other trades are useful early inputs. There is no obligation to have a finished design scheme before making contact: the studio can work with partial briefs and return relevant technical information and pricing to help advance the decision.

Technical Documentation

MOSS Objects provides a full set of specification documents for each collection. CAD drawings in DXF format are available for all products and cover key installation dimensions, canopy sizes, and cable drop configurations. IES photometric files are provided for projects requiring lighting simulation or compliance documentation. Product specification sheets cover material construction, finish options, electrical requirements, and electrical ratings for both EU and US markets. For bespoke commissions or large-scale configurations, additional documentation — scaled configuration drawings, custom specification sheets — can be prepared on request.

Finish Samples

All six standard lacquered finishes for Emily are available as physical samples: Anthracite semi-matte, White semi-matte, Black high gloss, Gold tone, Copper tone, and Dark bronze tone. Kosmos and Dune samples can also be arranged. Reviewing a sample under actual site lighting conditions is recommended where finish coordination with other metalwork or architectural surfaces is a factor. Samples ship directly to the project office or construction site.

Lead Times and Programme Integration

MOSS Objects luminaires are made to order. Standard lead times are eight to twelve weeks from order confirmation, depending on the collection and configuration. This figure is the relevant one for scheduling against fit-out programmes. Enquiries should be raised early enough to allow for sample review, specification sign-off, and order confirmation well ahead of the installation window. For projects with fixed completion dates, confirming availability with the studio at the brief stage avoids programme risk.

Delivery and After-Sales

Luminaires are shipped fully assembled where logistics allow. Installation instructions and all required ceiling fixings are included. For complex configurations — multi-pendant Dune clusters or Kosmos installations with multiple canopies — detailed rigging notes and connection diagrams are provided. MOSS Objects is available after delivery for any technical queries arising during installation or use. The studio can be reached directly; there is no intermediary for after-sales contact.

Interior architects specifying pendant lighting for an active project can contact MOSS Objects directly to discuss brief requirements, documentation, and current lead times.
