For architects and interior designers specifying lighting in commercial, hospitality, or institutional projects, a CE certified pendant light is not optional — it is a baseline requirement. MOSS Objects luminaires meet this standard across all collections. Beyond certification, we provide full technical documentation, electrical options for global markets, and optional UL listing for North American projects. Understanding compliance requirements early in the specification process prevents costly revisions later.

CE Certification Across All Collections

Every MOSS Objects pendant light — Emily, Dune, and Kosmos — carries full CE certification (European conformity marking). CE marking indicates compliance with the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU) and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2014/30/EU). These directives ensure electrical safety, component integrity, and electromagnetic performance. Each luminaire is individually tested before shipment. All materials — steel (Emily), aluminium (Dune), and stainless steel (Kosmos) — meet relevant EU standards for light fixtures. LED drivers and electronic components are sourced exclusively from certified suppliers.

UL Listing for North American Projects

For projects in the United States or Canada, UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification may be required, particularly for hospitality, institutional, or commercial installations. MOSS Objects offers optional UL listing at an additional cost of $350 per project. UL listing verifies compliance with North American electrical and fire safety standards (UL 1598 for luminaires). While not always mandatory, UL certification accelerates project approval and provides specifiers with documented proof of safety compliance. We recommend discussing UL requirements with project authorities having jurisdiction before finalizing specification.

Electrical Standards: E27 and E26

MOSS Objects provides electrical flexibility for global specification. The standard socket is E27 (standard European screw fitting) for EU and Asian markets. For projects in North America, we supply E26 sockets (standard North American fitting). This dual-standard approach simplifies sourcing and ensures compatibility with local electrical infrastructure. All fixtures are factory-configured for the specified market. If a project requires cross-border shipment or multiple electrical standards, we can discuss custom configurations during the specification phase.

Documentation for Specification

Specifiers require comprehensive technical documentation to include pendant lights in project bids, drawings, and compliance submissions. MOSS Objects provides a complete documentation package for every project: technical data sheets (dimensions, material specifications, electrical ratings), CE certificates (full certification documents), installation and electrical connection guides, finish and customization options, lead time estimates, and photometric data where applicable. All documentation is available in English and tailored to the specific project configuration (model, finish, electrical specification). This documentation package accelerates approval processes and ensures seamless coordination with electrical contractors and building authorities.
