Our Design Process: From Problem to Fixture

Every MOSS collection starts with a specific problem. Here is how we solve them.

Dune began with a question: how do you light a kitchen island with something that feels architectural, not decorative? The answer was modularity. A system that could scale from intimate to monumental while maintaining visual coherence.
Emily started differently. We wanted to bring organic, almost biological forms into lighting—shapes that felt grown rather than manufactured. The challenge was doing this with precision that architects would accept.
Kosmos, launching Q2 2026, addresses another problem: how do you create presence in large, double-height spaces without visual noise? The solution was a planetary system—multiple elements in orbital relation, creating depth through positioning rather than detail.
Each collection takes 12-18 months from first sketch to production. We prototype extensively. We test finishes under every lighting condition. We obsess over junctions and transitions.
The result is fixtures that solve real problems with quiet confidence.
