Light as a Building Material

We treat light with the same intentionality as concrete, steel, or stone.

In too many projects, lighting is an afterthought. The architecture is complete, the interiors specified, and then someone realizes: we need to see in here.

We believe light should be considered from the first sketch. Ceiling heights should be planned with lighting in mind. Structural elements should accommodate fixtures. Electrical infrastructure should be coordinated.

Dune was designed for this approach. The vertical elements in Cluster configurations require specific ceiling heights. The horizontal spread of Curve configurations defines spatial zones. When architects involve us early, we can optimize these relationships.

Emily works differently. It is more adaptable, fitting into existing conditions with less coordination. But even here, early planning helps—ensuring proper junction boxes, dimming infrastructure, and ceiling support.

We offer design consultations for projects in development. We review plans, suggest configurations, and provide technical coordination. This early involvement prevents the compromises that happen when lighting is added late.

Involve us early. The results are worth it.
